Hi Jim,
I was wondering if you could quote me a price on a custom Hang on the Back acrylic fuge.
I am going to try to sell my new skimmer as I cannot resolve the too many microbubbles issue, but if it cannot sell then as a last resort I would like to have a fuge built customed in a manner I feel should be able to deal with these bubbles, while allowing me to unplug a couple other items currently running in my tank.
Here is a pic.
25inches long x 4.5 inches deep x 20 inches tall.
The outlet part I would like to poor out like an aquaclear does.. basically the whole design is like that of a huge AC.
Thanks for the info Jim. |

Yes I can.
Why not just use an old Emperor or AC? _________________ "Its all fun and games until the glass breaks" |

| put some filter floss in the baffles and it will stop the micro bubbles from getting into your display. |

I am using two Aquaclears on the tank right now, an AC 70 and Mini and they work great, but there is not enough space allowance in their size to properly deal with the microbubbles. I also thought it would be nice to have a decent sized fuge to put my feather caulerpa in that is growing insanely quickly in the back of my tank right now.
Killa B: I have tried everything I can with my Coralife skimmer save this last option to deal with all the microbubbles. The filter floss didnt work. |

i have an aqua clear 500 , that doesnt have a motor you can have. (13x4x8.5 high) you need to mod it a bit. _________________ "There now I shouldn't need to buy anything else thats expensive " Ya right!!!! |

Thanks for the offer Joey, but I am going to wait for the price on the custom fuge.
Aquaclear filters are not going to fix the issue I am having with the skimmer I purchased. I have already tried everything I have available to me including adding foam to the ballast, using the aquaclears.
Adding additional piping like others have done, etc.
The problem is that there is far to much pressure coming from the skimmer and it cannot be dialed down enough to compensate. This is something that is not much of an issue for under the tank fuges when a skimmer is used because that is what the setup does. I just need it on a smaller scale, but a nice size for my tank as well. |
