Forty Fathoms

Hi all and welcome to the newest section on Forty Fathoms forums...Brackish! My name is Jennifer and I am the moderator for this section of the forum. I keep brackish tanks. I have a 35 gallon housing 5 female and 2 male mollies of various colors, a 20 gallon sale tank with around 15 older fry that will be ready for sale in a month, and a 5.5 gallon with around 50 fry. I keep my salinity low, at about 1.005 sg (specific gravity). There are different salinities for different brackish fish. I keep strictly mollies and I find they do very well in around 1.005 to 1.010.

Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself and i'd love to hear from any other brackish keepers out there (I feel very lonely in my brackish world...!)

Hi Jennifer. My name is Kenny and although I don't contribute much to Jim's community I totally support what you all have going on here. I am really glad to see interests in this aspect of the hobby getting some attention and people like yourself taking the time to help others understand what it is about.

I have downsized my Brackish setup to a single 20gal as my marine interest grows but I still have the original red claw crab and bumblebee gobies I started out with in Oct of 2005. I hope this forum attracts some more brackish keepers and creates many new ones.
